Savage Beastfly Boss Guide — Chapel of the Beast & Far Fields Rematch

FAQ

Where is the Savage Beastfly?
Twice. First in the Chapel of the Beast at the eastern end of Hunter's March (needs the Drifter's Cloak to ride the wind drafts up), and again in Far Fields as the Savage Beastfly Grand Hunt wish after Fourth Chorus.
What does Savage Beastfly drop?
The Chapel of the Beast kill awards the Beast Crest. The Far Fields rematch awards a Horn Fragment.
How do I dodge the triple charge?
The Sweep attack is three horizontal charges — it lines up with your height for the first two, then crosses the full arena on the third. Jump it or needle-bounce over; in the Chapel, walls cut it short.
Is Savage Beastfly harder the second time?
Yes — the Far Fields version has 650 HP, smashes the arena platforms with its Slam, and summons floating Tarmites instead of caged adds. In Act 3 both encounters go black-threaded with doubled HP and void attacks.

Savage Beastfly is the optional boss that teaches every Silksong player the same lesson: read the hover. This armored adult Beastfly holds the Beast Crest hostage in the Chapel of the Beast — and then comes back meaner in Far Fields. If it’s stonewalling you early, the beginner guide lists what to level first.

Where do I fight Savage Beastfly?

  • Chapel of the Beast — the eastern end of Hunter’s March. Requires the Drifter’s Cloak to ride the chapel’s updrafts. Blocking the Beast Crest on the altar.
  • Far Fields — the Savage Beastfly Grand Hunt wish posts in Bellhart once it’s available, and the rematch happens in the Fourth Chorus arena (the wish won’t appear until Fourth Chorus is dead).

Both encounters go black-threaded in Act 3 — doubled HP plus void attacks.

How does the fight work?

It floats, it follows, and it has two modes until Phase 2:

  • Low hover = Sweep. Three horizontal charges in a row, re-aiming vertically between each. In the enclosed Chapel the walls cut it short; in the open Far Fields arena you’ll have to jump or pogo all three.
  • High hover = Slam. Three consecutive ground pounds, repositioning over your head each time. The punish window is right after the third slam — or swing upward between each.

Phase 2 (440 HP in the Chapel, 520 in Far Fields) adds Summon — it screeches and drops a cage spitting out a Beastfly, Kilik, or Vicious Caranid (floating Tarmites in the rematch). Cages themselves hurt on contact, and the adds die if the boss’s own Slam lands on them — kite accordingly.

What’s different in the Far Fields rematch?

The arena’s platforms are breakable — each Slam destroys a sixth of the floor, and slamming through a gap sends it diving into the lava before it erupts up beneath your platform (watch for the lava plume). A boulder hangs overhead: drop it for 100 damage and a free stagger. You can also walk out mid-fight — the arena never locks.

Is it worth fighting early?

The Beast Crest is the prize — a lifesteal-on-bind moveset that snowballs aggressive play. But nothing forces the early kill: if it’s eating you, come back with an upgraded needle and a second mask or two. The wish version will still be there.
