Act 3 is Silksong’s hidden act — the Abyss beneath Pharloom, three Old Hearts, and the true final boss Lost Lace. The door is the Silk and Soul wish, and it is the longest checklist in the game. Here’s the whole chain.
What do I need before Silk and Soul appears?
The wish posts on the Bellhart Wishwall (or directly from the Caretaker in Songclave) only after all of this is done:
Six prerequisite wishes:
- Flexile Spines
- A Lifesaving Bridge
- Crawbug Clearing
- Strengthening Songclave
- Trail’s End
- Balm for the Wounded
Two items:
- Faydown Cloak — the double-jump cloak from Mount Fay
- Bellhome Key — the key to Hornet’s Bellhart home
Two world-state requirements:
- The Flea Caravan has migrated all the way to Fleatopia (see the Lost Fleas guide)
- Lace defeated in the Cradle — her Act 2 rematch, not the Act 1 fight
And a hidden counter: 17+ Quest Points. Nearly every completed wish in the game contributes one point (deliveries give half). If Silk and Soul refuses to appear, a low Quest Point total is almost always the reason — go clean up wish boards in Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave.

Where are the four Soul Snare components?
Once the wish is accepted, the Caretaker needs four items to build the trap:
- Maiden’s Soul — given by the Chapel Maid in Bone Bottom.
- Hermit’s Soul — given by the Bell Hermit in Bellhart (hidden in the bell network — ring and search).
- Seeker’s Soul — looted from a Snail Shaman’s corpse in Bilewater after defeating Groal the Great.
- Snare Setter — a hidden workshop inside Weavenest Atla.
Hand all four to the Caretaker and the DESTROY: Soul Snare objective begins.
How do I actually trigger Act 3?
Climb to the Cradle and fight Grand Mother Silk again — same six-phase fight. At the finishing blow you’re offered a choice: bind her as before, or play the Needolin to spring the Soul Snare. Choose the Needolin. That triggers the Snared Silk ending — and when the dust settles, Act 3 begins.
What changes in Act 3?
The Abyss opens, the map shifts, and several bosses return black-threaded — including both Savage Beastfly encounters, which roughly double their HP and gain void attacks. Three Old Hearts gate the finale: Skarrsinger Karmelita (Hunter’s Heart), Nyleth (Pollen Heart), and Crust King Khann (Encrusted Heart) — the Clover Dancers’ Conjoined Heart can substitute for one. Collect three, descend, and meet Lost Lace.
